please recommend CZ. 22Lr
« on: December 11, 2012, 06:35:07 PM »
I'm joining a club soon and they have Indoor 4 position shooting for. 22. I'm looking at the 452 ultralux, 452 training, 453 varmint or American (cant find any for sale in 453 series) , 455 lux or varmint. Really like the 453 because of the nicer trigger, but cant find them

It will have a scope, so the different positions will matter. Thanks

I really like the heavy barreled 455 series, such as the Varmint Evolution or Varmint Precision Trainer. Super nice guns with a great little action.

I also recommend the Varmint, on the basis of barrel weight. You can easily add a little weight in the butt-stock to balance it out but adding weight to the fore-end (in a lighter rifle) doesn't do that much.

The Varmint butt-stock will probably be a little high for Kneeling and Offhand shooting but you can easily add a sliding butt-plate to correct that problem. The older style German hard rubber plates that have a concave surface for the shoulder and slide in a convex arc are the easiest to use, and cheaper if you can get them.

Best of luck and please keep us posted on your progress.
A good shot at close range beats a 'hit' at a longer range.

Thanks for the replies. Found a cz455 american with the 22lr and 17hmr barrels, gorgeous walnut stock, love it. Deadly accurate and the barrel switch takes about 3 minutes. Having alot of fun with it
