Did you check the angle of the feed lips on the factory mags? They could be bent causing the rear of the bullet to sit higher than it should and nose dive the rounds. Older mags that have been kept loaded (especially .45 mags) tend to bend feed lips often. Check them against the Mec gar mags, and if necessary, remove the springs and follower and bend the feed lips to the proper angel with some needle nose pliers. Or they could just be worn out and need replacing all together. Get several mags and rotate them out, don't keep the same ones loaded for over a month at a time.
