Finally got one!
« on: March 28, 2011, 11:37:25 AM »
Well this past Saturday I picked my P-01 up from a guy that was nice enough to meet me.  The gun is in great shape for having around 3k rounds through it.
Now I need to start making my list of TO DO's.  I think I want a new recoil spring, probably a lighter one.  Isn't the factory 15 or 17 pounds?  I was thinking around an 11#.  Maybe I will call CZ custom for advice.
Also need some sort of retention holster.  I don't like the BladeTech's but I might not have any other choice.  The leather IWB/OWB that I had made for my old Springfield XD40 works perfectly on the P01 so I don't have to worry about that one.
I will post pics later on when I get a chance to take some good quality shots.

Sounds great!

They are really shooting machines.

Often compared to the G19 and just as durable and reliable.

The best CZ currently offered, as it does everything so good.

I hope to shoot my P-01 some more this next weekend.

I look forward to hearing more from you and your new baby.

And yes..

Thanks, for Thinking CZ!

3K round count is not much for this gun. I would encourage you to shoot it for awhile before you started any upgrades. I bought a new one back in December and I just now have 450 rounds through it.  I'm trying to smooth out the trigger the old fashioned way: by shooting it.

List of TO DOs:

Replace main/hammer spring.
Replace recoil spring. If theres a lighter one for a compact.

Done.

LOL!

I got my SP-01 in february, and I put 250 rounds through it the 2nd day I had it. Cleaned and repeated the next day. I've got close to 1k rounds through it since I bought it in early february. My trigger is smoooooooth.

UPDATE:

Ok...so I finally got out to the range this weekend to shoot the P01.  The first pic I post the actual first grouping fired through it at about 25 feet.  The other shots are still at 25 feet just the rest of the target.

That is pretty good. Take it out to 20 yards now. ;)

do people honestly practice at 20 yards?  i think it is a little ridiculous since most confrontations are going to happen at a closer range than that.

I shoot at 10, 15 ,and 25 yards when I practice. Granted, I don't practice as much at that range as I do 10 and 15. Being accurate at 25 yards makes you more accurate at 10 and 15.

I just think at that range it is kind of hard to know exactly where you are wanting to aim since the sites pretty much take up most of the target
