I am excited about the Swamp Magmun. I have been looking for a good quality synthetic O/U for a while. The only problem is that I mostly hunt turkey out of ground blinds and the OAL of the Swamp Magnum is a bit too long for me. I know I could always buy one and have it cut down but I'm interested to see if anyone else would like to see this O/U available in a 28" or even a 26" barrel?

When you cut the barrel(s) on a shotgun, it still hits where the bead used to be !

The shot placement is not what the discussion is about. It is the overall length for those who hunt out of blinds. The Swamp Magnum would be a great turkey gun when hunting out of a blind if it were shorter in length.

I did not realize that shot placement didn't matter.

Of course, shot placement always matters. However, if you have experience in ground blinds, you understand that the Swamp Magnum having an overall length of 48.25” would not be well suited for the confined spaces of the ground blind. Considering most turkey guns range from 40.5” to 46” in overall length, making the Swamp Magnum available with a 26” barrel would bring the overall length down to a very manageable 44.25”. This, combined with the ability to shoot 3.5" shells and having two chokes available at any time, to me, seems like it would be a great addition to a turkey gun collection.
