Hey Leo,
Currently I use both of those dry fire resources you've mentioned. I obtained Anderson books first. I believe about a year now, and then purchased Steoeger's book about 4 months ago. I used to use an iphone app for a timer but have since purchased a real timer. I have normal USPSA targets set up in the basement and I also have the 1/3 size targets from Stoeger's store. The shooting box is approximately 27 feet from the target at the longest set up. My dry fire practice routine used to be Anderson's drills 1 - 14 each training session -at first, three times a week, more if possible -, then a mixture of five more drills from the remaining sections of the book, depending on time. But to be honest, since the new purchase I have not had the time with work and family life. Big problem for producing results.
I can appreciate Stoeger's book, but I've leaned back to Anderson's. I think it's just because it's what I learned first.
But to answer your question, the goals part is what I need to figure out and set a plan of attach. Right now the only shooting I do is on my Tuesday night weekly match. Which might plan for 40 - 50 rounds. Clearly not enough live fire practice to ingain repeatable results.
