IDPA Question
« on: June 24, 2015, 01:45:43 PM »
Just looking to get into IDPA.  What is the optimal number of magazines. Is two enough (considering the 10+1 limit)? or three best? What is the maximum round count in an IDPA stage?

You should have 3 mags, 1 in your pocket(starting mag) and 2 in mag pouches. You can only have 3 mags in IDPA.

You should always shoot a stage with three. one in gun, two on built.
that said..a couple in rotation in case one give troubles or gets damaged, muddy, etc.
so have always found five or six be a good number for all encounters.

Yeah I know I'm a little nuts, but I have 12, which I load prior to the event. Six with 11 rds and six with 10.
I start a COF with two mags of 10 on my belt and load the initial mag of eleven when I'm told to make ready.
