Pulling the trigger versus mental
« on: November 05, 2018, 02:22:59 PM »
There are so many aspects to action pistol shooting that more times than not its something other than pulling the trigger that's causing you to perform poorly.  After traveling to a few matches with friends I'd listen to them complain the entire way home about their trigger pull, splits, transitions etc.  However, after watching them shoot the match, it wasn't the act of pulling the trigger that hurt them. it was everything else!
They didn't rehearse the stage, they overran positions, they didn't call their shots and the rushed shots on steel. After having a dismal performance, really ask yourself what it was that hurt you!  Most times its your preparation and approach, not pulling the trigger.
