75d compact and p-01?
« on: September 17, 2014, 03:14:36 PM »
I salesperson tried to tell me that a 9mm pistol marked on the slide with CZ 75D Compact is the same as a CZ 75 P-01 which is the pistol I have been looking to purchase. Can anyone tell me if this is indeed correct or if the salesperson was trying to sell me a bill of goods as well as the wrong gun?

Will there ever be a case where the 75D Compact will have a rail and then pass for a P-01?

Someone may try that, but, the compact doesn't have a rail and haven't heard anything about them creating one.

I have the P-01 about 3 years now. Love it. Use it as my everyday carry. Did a limited trigger job using parts ordered from Cajun Gun works and its smooth as butter now.

I have both.  I never have used the rail on the P-01.  Either is a very good choice.  Most of my friends who have shot the P-01 either have bought the P-01 or the LCD Compact or want to.

Thank everyone for their replies. I spoke with a representative of CZ-USA and was informed that the pistol with the P-01 rail could have a 75D Compact slide since the parts are interchangeable.

It is common for the P01 to be in the US with slide rollmarked Compact D.
Still has the sku91199.
It doesn't have the NSN#, but still the same gun.

That is exactly what the CZ-USA representative told me. I wish I had known all that before I refused the sales transaction.

I had the same experience and after researching found out that the P-02 is stamped 75D Compact until they can re-tool to change the stamp to say P-01. Did you notice if it had an Omega trigger and possibly a safety instead of a decocker?

Honestly I didn't look at the gun in much detail after I saw the stamping of 75D Compact on the slide.

I meant to say "until they can re-tool to stamp P-02" not P01. Supposedly the only diff between the two is an Omega trigger and the option of either de-cocker or manual safety on the P02. Other than that I think they are pretty much the same. They supposedly did similar on the P-01 when it first came out.

i'm not a CZ guru by any means.. but besides the lack for rail on the 75 compact, but also the 75 compact is manual safety whereas P01 is decocker right?
