If your rifle is a BRNO ZKK 602, chances are it was originally an 8X68 which someone rechambered in order to use American brass. If it's not, and just a military Mauser, you now have an 8mm/.338, which should be a pretty nice little cartridge. I know of no "African Safari" designation for a ZKK 602.

I would love to see the photos. If you can't post them on line, you can email them to wtwiii(at)wk.net.

According to The Greenhill Dictionary of Guns and Gunmakers by John Walter (2001) the original name of CZ was Ceska Zbrojovka Akc. Spol, translating as The Czeckoslovakian Arms Company Ltd. This suggests to me that AS is simply part of the company name.
And, yes, I would like to see those pictures too ,please.

I just have the VZ 24 .338 Win Mag, I really love that longgun, ammo isn't even remotely inexpensive, but I sure as hell don't want to be on the wrong end of Ingrid!   I'll post some pics.
