Trigger does not reset: WHY ?
« on: July 02, 2015, 06:39:52 PM »
I just brought my new Scorpion to the range today and after the first 10 shots, the trigger does not reset anymore. I had to manually flip it forward to reset it.The trigger will reset only if:
  • I point the gun 45 degrees to the sky and
  • cycle the bolt at hand recycling speed
If I point the gun horizontally, the trigger will not reset automatically. If I recycle at recycling speed similar to a typical cartridge discharge, it will not reset.
Any idea what's going on?
Should I post this in the gunsmithing section?

No, contact CZ-USA, explain the problem and have them either tell you how to fix it, or send it in for repair.

Already did.
Gunsmith said factory might have installed the trigger spring incorrectly.
It's on the way back to me.

Conversed with gunsmith at CZ US and he felt that the trigger spring was disengaged; perhaps, the factory did not install it correctly. I can see the trigger spring flipping around when I tilted the gun.

Instead of sending in the entire gun, I was told to ship the trigger group only to bypass certain red-tape.

The gun was returned back to me in just few days and the trigger spring is now re-engaged.

Now, trigger reset is clearly audible and you can feel it, too.
I'm ready to head back to the range to test and zero my EoTech HWS mounted on it!
