1996 CZ 75B Military
« on: June 19, 2014, 10:12:33 PM »
Hello everyone,

I have a 96 CZ 75B military with all of the original paperwork and boxes. I read in a few forums that it is a Turkish army over run. Is this true? Should I continue shooting it or should I keep it as a safe queen? It is in excellent condition and I will never part with it. I just need to know if it will eventually be worth money someday. Thanks.

I bought one for $299.99 NIB in early 2001.  These were the most common and most "basic" 75B series pistol available NIB from @1997-2001.  The promotional offer was so popular that CZ-USA began remarketing some 1999 commercial pistols as the "75B Military" in 2000.

The 1996 production year pistols are in fact production overruns from the Turkish military contract.  As mentioned above, the 1999 production year pistols were commercial 75Bs offered with one 15 round magazine and one 10 round magazine, as well as the plastic thumb-rest grip associated with the Turkish contract specs.

There is nothing particularly special or collectible about these pistols.  They were essentially a "loss leader" for CZ-USA to generate interest in their product line.  In my case, it definitely worked.  It was my first CZ, and I now own six of their firearms.  (Nine, if you count used ones not imported by CZ-USA.)

I ended up selling mine to a friend to finance a 75B SA.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. I hope to add more CZs to my collection as well. My carry gun is the CZ P-07 Duty. I am truly amazed of how accurate the 3.8" barrel is in this pistol. I am a CZ fan for life.

You won't see them for that now

I bought my 75B in 94 for $199, Had never heard of the brand or shot one but though for $200 it pretty good.

I love and still have that pistol...

I bought my 1996 Turkish Military 75B in 2001 also, and still have it.  Great pistol, and yes it is the same as any commercial 75B, just cost less at the time.  These were being sold side by side with the current production 75B's but at a lower price.
