CZ 97B Essential Upgrades
« on: April 21, 2011, 11:21:22 PM »
Here are a few upgrades for you 97B.  Remember that the 97B (and 97BD) is essentially a 75B just super-sized so a lot of parts/accessories that are for or fit the 75 will fit the 97 (some may need a bit of english but will in fact fit).  These are the essential upgrade I plan on adding to my own 97B.  Links for each product are listed below, more for reference then price.

From the Top:

Competition Hammer from CZCustom
Trigger/Hammer Job (performed by a gunsmith; for me anyways)
Tactical Rear Sight from CZCustom
Fiber Optic Front sight from CZCustom
~Requires Front sight drill bit and front sight pin both available at CZCustom also
Hogue Wraparound grips (Currently I use the stock rubber grips from the 97BD; I like them better then the wooden ones)
Wolff Magazine Springs (I'm currently testing how the +5% and +10% will work; given then feed issues I've had)
Wolff Recoil Spring (stock weight is 13#, I'm currently testing how I like the recommended 14-16# springs)
Polished Feed Ramp (performed by a gunsmith; I've already gotten this done for free by CZ-USA; recommended)
Stainless Steel Full-Length Guide rod from Steve Badair
1911 Auto Tactical Light Rail from Novak

Thought you might like the light rail I put on there.  I think that would make the whole thing totally killer, and a definite limited custom one-off.  I just wonder if they fit or would need to be cut down at all.  Looks like I need to make a shopping list for lowes, some new shop tools are in order.

P.S.  I finally sold the other 97B.  I was able to trade it for a CZ 40B which makes me very very very happy.

Yeah, I like that light rail, sucks that you sold that 97 to someone besides me, but I'm glad that you got what you wanted. Thats always a good thing.

Yeah I had to make a move on this one fortunately but unfortunately....I know you will find one though and be just as happy, and probably pay half as much to boot.

That light rail does fit the 97 frame in all measurements so I think its time for a bit of upgrading.

As soon as Im able to put it on and everything I will post pics.

Will do

Now to buy a bigger work bench, a bench grinder, and drill press.  I think they lied.  They said that this was gonna cost like $60 + tax
