Valor & Valor V-Bob

I've been eyeing the Valor and V-Bob lately. I'm not fully understanding why the black finish is about $400 more than the matt stainless with everything else being the same. I know both frames are stainless, does it cost that much to apply the black finish to stainless? Anyone know the answer?
