Are reloads okay for first time through new gun?
« on: August 30, 2012, 10:29:13 PM »
Hi

I plan to hit the Houston Gun Show at the George R Brown this weekend (Sept 1-2) and am looking for the EAA Witness or, if I can find one, a CZ 97B.    I also plan to buy re-loads.  How do you guys feel about running reloads through a brand new firearm?  Or does it matter?   Or do ya'all consider to be safe?  It's primarily an economical issue for me.

There is nothing wrong with reloads if they are properly made.  The 97 B or 97 BD are pretty hard to find in a local gun shop.  CZ Custom has them in stock although.

Thank you.  But I am going to see if I can pick up an EAA/Tangfolio Witness full size in a 9 mm .  I shot one at the range and it felt pretty good.  Of course, if I see a CZ in a full size model, I'll have to weigh my options!

Some of my guns have never seen factory new ammo.
