New CZ Scorrion pistol, now carbine
« on: July 18, 2017, 04:11:25 PM »
I've had this beauty for a couple weeks.

Thanks to CZ-USA and a good friend, I now have the FDE version of
a gun that I've wanted for years.

Sorry about posting so late, but I thoiught that I'd posted here already.

This is for me to take to the range and protect home.

The short barrel is great for cramped quarters.

I'm a fan of the 805 BREN Carbine as well, but both the BREN and Scorpion
in actual carbine lengths, are a bit heavy for me.

9mm fits my budget far better than 5.56 or .300 Blackout.

The pistol with the KAK brace is both light and accurate.

At least at the 25 yard indoor range that I frequent.

I'll be posting more about it here and on my Blog.

And possibly a black or FDE P10C in the
near future.

Kev

It is not legal here in Connecticut.  However most of the members are smart enough not to live here.

I was not thinking about any state laws, just NFA/ATF rules.  I think to put a detachable (or permanent) stock on a "pistol" you have to have the proper tax stamp.

I would hate to see someone get into trouble with the feds. Too much in the way of fines and or possible jail time for such an infraction.   Best to check it out and be sure.

It's not a Stock. A KAK pistol blade. I have no intention for it to be a stock, or to shoulder it.

Plenty of people use their Scorpions with the blades.

Thanks for the concern though.

Neat.  I just looked up on mrf's site and they say it's ATF legal.  It still looks like a detachable stock to me, but??

I had always thought, and knew at one time detachable stocks were illegal without the tax stamp and registration.  The mfr says it can be held against the arm to stabilize or held to the cheek, like a stock.  Makes me wonder how it got approved.

Years and years ago I made a "stock" support for dad's K model S&W revolver, the only thing that held it to the gun was my hand and it was amazing how that improved accuracy.  It was never considered detachable as it was never "attached".

Yes, the istol has a end plate that you have to take off to use the KAK blade.
Not detachable in any way, unless you take a hammer with you to pound off the
adapter back to pistol mode.

I want to be 100% legal here.
