Have a new CZ TSO that is a month old and is experiencing feeding issues with standard 40 S&W Speer/Lawman 165 grain FMJ flat nose ammo. Frequency is about one jam at the base of the feed ramp for every 8-10 rounds. Understand this TSO and I are still getting acquainted, but my initial research indicated this magnificent model CZ was expected to function flawlessly out of the box. Would appreciate any insights/suggestions that would shed some light on this issue. Thanks.

Does this happen with all mags? Have you tried other ammo?

Yes, today I fired three different ammo brands all in 165 grain: 12 rounds Speer/Lawman with 1 jam - several feeding issues as described before; 38 rounds PMC with 2 jams; and 38 rounds Winchester 0 jams. Consensus of opinion is the 165 grain rounds feed poorly because of their length, but 180 grain rounds are a bit longer and feed flawlessly. Will try some Winchester 180 grain ammo. You have an ammo brand your prefer?

Thanks for the dialogue.

I'm glad you were able to narrow it down. I don't shoot a .40 and don't own a TSO, so I can't really answer the question, however, my CZ's eat everything I feed them w/o issue.

Update: Feed Issues with CZ 75 Tactical Sport Orange .40
« Reply #6 on: February 03, 2022, 01:36:05 PM »
With superb CZ Customer Service support, I sent this CZ 75 TSO back to the factory to assess and repair this continuous failure to feed issue described in an earlier thread. My TSO came back in a surprising two weeks with a gunsmith's note that he replaced the extractor and test fired it with good results. Before service, the failure to feed rate was about 1 to every 8-10 rounds fired. Today I fired 100 rounds with 1 failure to feed - the bullet was jammed at the base of the feed ramp. I was firing three different .40 caliber manufacturers: 165 grain Speer Lawman and Winchester; and 180 grain PMC. The single misfire was a Speer Lawman round.

Obviously, the factory service made a significant improvement, but 1 in 100 is still not an acceptable failure to feed rate for this ultra fine firearm.  I do plan to shoot another 100 rounds of only Winchester and PMC to help determine if its an ammo problem while closely tracking which mag, if any, produces a failure to feed, thus indicating a potential mag problem.

Any CZ Forum members ever have a similar problem?

I would definitely try the different ammo brands and pay lose attention to the magazines, it appears as it may be a mag issue.....I had similar issues until I replaced the springs to +10...

Thanks, chfields. Good info, especially about assuring the proper mag springs.
