CZ83 Finish Quality - Question
« on: July 23, 2018, 09:22:18 AM »

Since I've just purchased a NIB CZ83, I've been trolling thru some instructional YouTube clips to refresh myself on the operation of this fine pistol. A couple of YouTube instructors stated that the finish on the blued CZ83s was too easily prone to rusting and pitting and 83 owners are cautioned to keep a light coat of oil on this pistol when not on the firing line. Do CZ Forum members who own a CZ83 share this negative assessment of its finish?

I've had my 83 about ten years and it shows no rust.  It was used in lessons and probably got slightly wet once or twice.  It was always cleaned at the end of the day.  The bluing on the back strap is worn thru in a couple of spots from the hundreds of students that have shot the gun.

Thanks for your response, Rodolfo. This is what I had hoped to hear. I could not imagine the Czechs applying an inferior finish to their fine CZ line of firearms.
