OEM CZ Walnut vs Cocobolo Grips?
« on: September 10, 2018, 11:38:00 AM »
So the Cocobolo half checkered grips are out of stock everywhere. Pictures on CZ's website show each with a similar color shade. Besides the pricing at $30 more for the Walnut, what are the differences and why does the Walnut cost more?

Pics would be greatly appreciated.

Due to the rust present on my slide stop and a little ding on the slide, CZ sent me these "walnut grips" as a gratis in addition to an additional slide stop.

The cocobolo grips (half checkered) are out of stock everywhere but these supposed to be Walnut grips look like just the cocobolo.

Can someone compare them to their Cocobolo grips here?

So Walnut is supposed to have a lighter shade? Everyone seems to have the Cocobolo...Walnut a new product offered?

Here are the Walnut grips as pictured on CZ's site?:

What about the slide? Did they try to repair it or just replace it? If they replaced it how about the seriel number on right front? Did they restamp one or leave it blank?

Its my understanding that cocobolo is on a restricted list as "endangered".  I imagine there is still some inventory, though.  Not OEM but check out Esmeralda Custom Grips.  Have used her grips for many years, and have them on my SP-01 and P-01.  She has some very nice cocobolo, particularly in the smooth grips.
