Here in CT they are proposing a bunch of new laws.  For instance confiscating all firearms without any court ruling upon receiving a request for a protection order.  No provision in the law to return the guns.

Why am I not surprised.  This has been poo-poo'd as a "confiscation will never happen" argument. Slippery slopes are slippery.
