Tennis Ball Target
« on: December 05, 2011, 02:17:54 PM »
Here is a fun target setup.  Drill a 1/8" hole in a used tennis ball.  Tie a knot on about 18" of string.  Push the knot thru the hole with a 1/8" punch.  Tie the other end of the string to a rod with 1" slack in the loop.  The loop size affects braking to keep the ball from going over the rod and tangling.  The balls should be hanging on about 12" of string for medium action.
NOTICE the HIViz sights !

Love to see it, but I'm not willing to sign-up for Snap Fish yet!

Thanks guys. Anyone else posted that and I might wonder, but Rudolfo is one of our most conscientious members. I think that is just the way SnapFish does their thing. That's why I use Flickr...  :cheesy:

Nice pic, Rudolpho. But the ad is weird... haha
EDIT: That's better...

X2! I will be doing something for sights on the SP-01, but not sure what yet. I was leaving toward Meprolight, but those look very nice. "Dank", as my students would say haha

The sights cost about $100.  I put them on, but would recommend having good gunsmith do it.  You can choose the colors that you like.

When I viewed the post I was able to click on the link and see the pictures.  I guesse SnapFish makes everyone look at their ads and join.  Thanks b5.5dan for retreiving the picture.
Ten yards is the distance that I usually shoot at the balls .  When they are swinging there is a tremendous tendency to jerk the trigger.  It is great training.

I have a similar target that I use myself thats metal. The targets are a little smaller than tennis balls. It has 5 across so that I can speed shoot.

I pause quite a bit once the balls start really flying around.  Not what I would call speed shooting.
