Steel Challenge Dry Practice
« on: February 07, 2015, 03:10:43 PM »
Over on Brian Enos I found an interesting thread to help get started with the math involved to practice at home either dry fire or airsoft.
[Thread Here].
The following example for 5 to go is below:

Quote
For example, on your wall, stand 8' away.

To shoot let's say "5 To Go", which normally has four 10" plates at increasing distance, and a 12" stop plate off to the right.

Put all of your targets on the wall at 8'.
A 2.667" circle 2.733' to the left
A 2.222" circle 0.778' to the left
A 1.778" circle .662' to the right
A 1.519" circle 1.519' to the right
A 6.476" circle 4.571' to the right

I'm working on setting up this one at 15' and Pendulum @ 15 feet.
I think once a full set of circles are cut out fo a given distance one could get some great drills in throughout the day.

If anyone has a method or formula for determining the circle cutouts by distance that would be great. Also, thoughts on how to get the right heights would be helpful

Here is a completely different setup than what you want.  You might still be interested in it.  It is a lot of fun.

It took all afternoon to figure out and, so far, I've only got two complete. But I was able to scale Pendulum and Accelerator onto a sheet and hang on my garage wall for dry fire (laser) practice at 10 feet.

With the help of the Dry-fire phone app, I can run drills throughout the day. Turns out your arms get real tired if you do 20 reps in a row. But it is nice to see the rhythm develop. This looks to be a good at home drill. Total investment of about $15 for a roll of paper and some sharpies.
