Title: Need Omega trigger explained
Post by: CZ04FT on February 15, 2012, 01:43:20 PM
Yes, I'm a newbie. I've tried putting "Omega" in the Search box and came up with only 13 results. Most were from the Want Ads. Please tell me what the Omega trigger is, what it does, and how to detect the Omega trigger in a new purchase. Are there adjustments that can be made on the Omega trigger? What is the relationship, if any, between the Omega trigger and the recoil spring? What about the hammer spring? This forum seemed to be the place to ask the questions. I've seem snippets that indicate the Kadet Conversion comes in a form that will work with the Omega trigger. Is this true? Does having an Omega trigger mean that there will be kit that allows switching between a manual safety and a decocker for the 75 B, much like the P-07 Duty?

Thanks for any help, advice and information.

The best explanation and information was found on this website:

http://www.czub.cz/en/catalog/79-pistols-cz/PST/CZ_75_B_OMEGA.aspx

Look for the Omega mark on the slide and the upturned tail on the frame beavertail.

uses a different trigger system. essentially a P07 trigger system in the 75.

ejector is not part of the housing anymore.
sear, firing pin block, hammer relationship is different.
supposed to be able to offer switchability between decocker and safety
supposed to be easier to maintain for armorers.

Single action is generally good, very little creep and no camming compared to a 75B
Double action feels longer before letoff.

Thank you, GM4469. Not knowing about the internals of a pistol, I like you explanation of the differences.

I found some information on other websites. It appears that CZ-UB isn't going to make part kits available to switch the CZ-75 Omega between decocker and safety. Also, the Kadet Omega Conversion has been discontinued.
