Hello all!
As many of you know, I got an SP-01 for Christmas, and was delighted to find that my standard (not the Tactical) model had come with the night sights by Tru-Glo. Anyway, I was doing my draw drills in a darkened room last night, and found that the front sight is dead. The rears still glow brightly, but the front is no more.
Now, the gun store says that they can fix me up with a replacement at very little cost, but it seems to me that a pistol I've had for 6 weeks (and have only been shooting for 4) should be repaired for free. Does CZ warranty their night sights does anyone know? I sure hope so. I mean, if I have to pay for a new front, I will probably just wait and save up for some Hi-Viz. Still, I would rather not have any more cost to be back on the road...
Thanks guys!

I would certainly call them and ask for a new set or front. they will probably want you to send the gun or the slide in for them to install though.
-
Hmm... Ok. I will call tomorrow. I would sure rather not have to send the pistol back, but I guess if that's what it takes. I could try to send it while I'm out of town... I'll have to use your SP-01, AVM! haha

I'd say just have them send you a front sight and roll pin and we can install it while you're down here.

I can't find their number. Looks like the website is down. Gah!

Thanks! I just realized that I didn't carry that one today, so I don't have the serial number... I will have to call tomorrow...

UPDATE: CZ will fix the sight, but I have to send it in for the repair. So, $40 for postage has me looking at the cost of a replacement locally to put on myself. Either way, I hope to take my SP-01 with me to TN, so I won't be sending it in before I go. We'll see what happens afterward.

If you want to do it locally, then you're looking at:
Sight: $55 http://czcustom.com/cz75_trijicon_front_sight.aspx (http://czcustom.com/cz75_trijicon_front_sight.aspx)
Roll pin punch: $7.50 (I have one)
Front sight drill bit: $1.50
New roll pin: $4.00
Shipping: $5-$10
You're looking at $40 and 6 weeks without your gun VS $78 to do it yourself.

Crap. I won't have that before I come out. I am trying to save every last extra penny for ammo...
I can't believe it's only 10 days away! I'm so excited!!
-
Hee hee, me too. Pm me your number so I can give you a call.

I so wish I could be there you guys! I was seriously looking forward to meeting you both in person and have some time to talk. The Cataract surgery for both eyes and the recovery period is much longer than I had hoped it would be. :embarrassed:  But have fun and maybe some how we can get together in the future. I still think a full on CZForum get together would be the shinest thing ever. But, if wishes were money etc.

Oh, I'm going to tape everything we do! I'll post some vids to youtube for everyone to see how bad we suck. LOL! It'll be just like you were here, minus the food, beer, laughs, and smell.... of gunpowder. :cheesy:

I'm trying ot get out of here. I will call you tonight if I'm not done too late (my crappy phone doesn't always work in here) or tomorrow afternoon.
I can't believe how close it is!

Sorry guys my bad but we're way off topic here, Lets take this private, and see if anyone has any other questions or suggestions about Dead or dying Night Sights.

As far as I know, tritium sights are supposed to glow for a long time. Maybe you'd have a better turn around sending the rear back to TruGlow, and see if they'll send you a replacement.

Oh, sorry. The sight issue is more or less resolved.
