Building my own CZ 455 SNIPER
« on: April 16, 2015, 12:04:49 AM »
It's not as complicated as it seems. I really like the accuracy of the 455, as I have shot a 10 round group that I could cover with a dime at 100 yards. So I really wanted to sort of do a CZ 455 SNIPER.

Started with a 455 with a regular walnut stock and pencil barrel.
Switched to the Varmint Evolution blue custom laminate stock from boyds.

Then, I got a 24 inch varmint barrel threaded in 1/2x28 to use with my suppressor.

So the balance was now off due to the super long barrel, and I didn't want to drill into the pretty blue laminate to put in a sling swivel and mount a bipod, so, I ordered the Tacticool stock from Boyds.

Now, when that comes in, I'll either stick with my Centerpoint 16 power scope, or I may just buy something a little beefier. It all depends on how much the wife will let me spend and how well I can spin the purchase. LOL!

I'll post pics when I get the barrel and action into the stock.

The 24 inch barrel looks so much more at home in that stock. Now all I have to do is find a good bipod for it, and a few hundred rounds of subsonic ammo.

Czuper Sweet looking!

What do you guys think of the Nikon Pro Staff 4x12 Rimfire scopes for a 455 LUX .22?

Here it is completed. Now I just have to find some subsonic rounds in stock somewhere.

As far as scopes go, I hate fixed magnification. Everything I have has adjustable parallax and will go to at least 16x. I like being able to see the grain of the paper when I put holes in it. LOL!

A 4x will do fine if you're just plinking and having general fun.

Nice job! looks very good. I"m looking forward to your range report. Are you still getting the same 100 yd. accuracy? I also wonder if you could add a sling and do an Appleseed AQT and see how that goes.

Yes, still has sling studs. I also have a seekins precision rail that I was going to test out on it, that allows for a picatinny mounted bipod and has an integrated sling loop.

Haven't had a chance to shoot it. Been working 7 days a week. It's got a Blackhawk bipod on it at the moment, but I've got a seekins  precision rail and a picatinny bipod that I'm going to put on it and review.
