First 100 Rounds with Kadet Conversion
« on: March 15, 2012, 02:44:00 PM »
I'm only going to show the first few targets from the first 100 rounds I fired with my new Kadet Conversion Kit. (Look in the chat forum on Kadet Conversion for my mounting of the kit on my CZ 75 B frame.) These are all with the .22 LR. I didn't switch between the .22 LR and the 9 mm during this visit to the indoor range.

I honestly don't remember which of these first two were first. But they were both shot at 7 yards. This one shows two rounds in the 8 zone. All the rest in the 9, 10 and Bullseye.

Here is the second at 7 yards. This one shows only one round in the 8 zone, all the rest in 9, 10 and Bullseye.

This one shows my last nine rounds. I used two magazines of 5 and 4 rounds. There is one in the 7 zone, two in the 8 zone, five in the 9 zone, only one in the 10 zone, no Bullseyes. This was at 10 yards. All rounds hit high. I may have aimed high because of the distance, or it is just the way the sights are adjusted. I don't plan on touching the adjustments right at the moment.

I went to the indoor range again on Thursday afternoon. I had trouble loading the .22 LR rounds in the magazines. My thumb was sore from Wednesday's trip to the range. I could only load what I first thought was 30 rounds total. But there are 68 left in the box of 100. So, that means 32 rounds were fired. Two in 8 zone, ten in 9 zone (or on the line), twelve in the 10 zone, eight in Bullseye with the Kadet Conversion. These were done at 7 yards.

Should read 101-132 rounds:

I switched to the 9 mm upper unit. My thrumb gave out after 25 rounds of feeling the magazines by hand. I moved the target back to 10 yards, and fired standing, with a two hand grip. I count five in zone 7, four in zone 8, five in zone 9, eight in zone 10, and 3 Bullseyes.

Den has completed the modification of my UpLula-K loader, and he has mailed it back to me. My thumb thanks him immensely. If you don't have one of his modifications, see his topic

FOR SALE - HKS & UpLULA Magaizine Loaders modified to load .22lr mags

If you own an UpLula, he charges you only $8 (plus $2 if you want the return insured) to modify it. You just mail it to him along with a money order, or personal check, Or you can buy one from him, modified, for $42. It may sound expensive, but remember the UpLula-K will still load all the magazines that it loaded before modification. It will load the 9 mm up through the 45 ACP magazines, plus the .22 LR and most 380 magazines.

I gave one away today to another member while we were at the range today. I have 3 left. I have no idea how many of these he has sold me in the last year but I'm guessing close to a dozen? and when ever I let some try one they love it. And I end up giving it to them. I wonder if I should have little sticker made that says made by Den on one side, and another sticker for the other side saying CZForum.com?

I'll be writing up how it went at the range today, sometime tomorrow is I can move that is. I can say that not all CZ's will eat anything put through them, especially the steel case rounds, but most of the ones I brought today did handle them well. And Shooting the pistols I took today was a blast and a half. Wore me out, but it was a good day and worth the pain. We have pics and will post them tomorrow or as soon as I can actually move again. Also I discovered an intresting fact about why the mags may be dropping (disengaging the release) after they have racked and fired once. I'll post that discussion on both the Ye Oldie Gunsmith and the General Firearms boards.
