Changing backstrap
« on: March 29, 2015, 11:23:04 AM »
What is your technique for getting sufficient pressure on the main spring plug to remove/replace the pin when changing backstraps?

As the 2014 models tend to come without a lanyard loop, the plug sits flush with the mag well and makes it challenging to get a purchase to push it in enough to relieve pressure on the retaining pin - at least in my experience.  I ultimately tried a plastic bic pen with a cap that has slits in it that locked on to the curved edge of the plug and provided leverage to push the plug in so I could then drop in the pin.

I have to believe there are better/easier methods out there?  Not that I should need to do it very often, but there may be a reason for me to want to swap the straps so someone else can comfortably shoot the gun from time to time.  I suppose one could order a plug with lanyard loop from CZ as the loop provides that little bit of leverage.
