Finding a CZ 83 in 32?
« on: June 25, 2011, 01:26:10 PM »
Last year I noticed that CZ 83s are available in 32 or 7.65 caliber and after handling a 380 version at a local gun shop I decided I eventually wanted to get one. Anyways I've been looing all over the internet for a while and can't seem to find a new one. Any ideas on where I can get one in a few months?

Looking for this exact gun.

Hi, you might give "The Shooters Shop" http://www.shootersshop.com/cz1.html a try see if they have one, or try www.gunbroker.com and www.auctionarms.com and see if anyone has one up for action. My personal choice would be the CZ 82 which is a 9 x 18 Makarov pistol calibre. I have a couple and I think they are a great pistol! Sort of like a .380 married a 9mm their children would be this ammunition. And if you get some FMJ, (personally I used surplus FMJ) ammunition then you have the best of both worlds, and a tack driver to boot. Can't say I have any experience with the CZ83 in the 7.65 version which uses the Browning (.32 Auto), and 9 mm Browning Short (.380 ACP) round.

Ok I think I found one but it has 10 round mags. Can up to four 15 round mags be found anymore online?

That link can be found by Googling CZ 82/83 magazines and clicking on the "shopping" tab. It's a great link, but will likely change from week to week, if not day to day.

Oh, and another thing... If you get one and it rattles when fully loaded, it's perfectly normal. No need to take it apart 20 times, clean and oil the spring, or agonize over whether or not the mag is bad...
Ask me how I know...

Don't get me wrong! I didn't want to sound snotty, but sometimes I do anyway. Sometimes we get people who are... less than comfortable... with these search methods. It's a great resource and I appreciate your help! Sorry if I sounded jerky.  :cheesy:

I just watched a CZ-83 in .32 cal on GB.com about a week ago sell for just under $1000! It was one of the brand new ones, but still...

CZ-83, CZ-75D PCR compact, and finally, a Rami 2075 9mm for EDC.

Ok, here might be an option. I want an 83 in .32 also, none available on the net, so I was thinking...why not convert an 82, or 83? Any ideas on whether this pistol would fly? I imagine one could order the barrel and complete slide assembly from CZ, and convert your 82 or 83...Comments? Suggestions?

I am in the process of fitting a CZ82 with a .380 barrel from a CZ83 and that should not present any problems since the barrel dimensions are the same and the magazines will also work.  But you would have to be careful about the barrel dimensions and source different mags.  Good luck and keep us informed.

Project: Convert a CZ 82 to .32 cal. Parts needed...complete slide for .32, barrel, magazines...should do the trick. Comments? Suggestions? My only worry is this: Will a slide from an 83 in .32cal work on an '82? I know the 9x18/.380s are interchangeable, but what about the .32s.
