TiN barrel coating my P10c////Talon Grip Moss
« on: July 28, 2018, 04:11:20 PM »
Just got my CZ P10c barrel  back from having it treated with a Titanium Nitride coating.
About 10 days turn around. Love it. Link is below.

It looks cool, let us know how the finish holds up after you shoot it.

Thanks,
I put 200 rounds through today of Blazer Brass 124gr FMJ.
The contrast of powder residue on the gold barrel was very obvious.
All crevices, angles, throat area, ramp, etc. could be easily seen and cleaned.
As compared to powder residue on a black colored barrel that might be missed.Still had to use a small nylon brush in a few places. Not a big deal.I inspected the barrel and did not notice any signs of TiN wear.Too early to tell. The treatment has a warranty.
My son 14,helped with the cleaning which turned into a great teaching moment onwhere to expect residue build up that might not normally be seen.
And to understand how parts make contact that could cause premature wear if not cleaned and lubed properly. Worth the money just for that experience.

At the end of the day,the P10c has a good 600 rounds through it now..
Not one issue. The trigger feels better. The Mag ejector was stiff out of the box but has loosened up a bit.Getting used to a consistent good grip and target acquisition at the range as well.
Keep shootin'Dave

Re: TiN barrel coating my P10c /// 500+ rounds ///Talon Grip added

Broke thru the 500 rounds mark. Finish good as new. I use just a  few patches wet with Sharp Shoot R "wipe out" on them and its an easy clean up. No metal brushes used.
Sometime a nylon brush is used  in the corners of the feed ram. That"s it!  BTW, I use wipe out on my shotguns as well and do not use any metal brushes either.

In addition, Talon Rubber Moss wrap grip was added. It made a big difference in the grip with less fatigue if shooting over 200 rounds at the range for me. Very easy to install and matches the CZ FDE color nicely.
