Mislabeled 40p.

Hello gents. New guy here, I'm not much of a cz guy, I'm from the 1911 world. But I got an interesting gun here. So this is a 40p, no doubt about it. Weird thing is it's rollmarked as a 40b. Yet, the serial numbers match? Funky deal. I would expect the slides number to not match, but they do. Anyway, just curious about this thing, any info on it would be appreciated.


Side note, it shoots well. Does hurt my finger a little bit, not sure what that's about, but at least it feels 1911 esque. That's always a plus. Very nice double action pull. Single action kinda sucks, I'm not used to a bunch of take up.

I believe I found your answer. This is from wikipedia CZ75 page: CZ 40-B/Colt Z-40[/size][/color]Collaboration between Colt/CZ. 1911 style frame made by Colt to use a CZ style slide chambered in .40 S&W. Was the basis of design for the RAMI 2075 series.[/font][/size][/color]CZ 40-P[/font][/b][/size][/color]After the CZ-40B/Colt Z-40 project fell apart CZ used the left over slides and fit them to P-01 frames and sold as the CZ 40-P in .40 S&W. A small amount of CZ 40-P guns still have the CZ 40-B roll marks.[/font]

That's an awesome and rare gun from what I gather, especially with the rare markings. That is a real score my friend. Enjoy it.

Right, I called CZ in Kansas yesterday, and they couldn't tell me much other than the 40b is what came to be from all the left over parts. When they ran out of that particular frame, they put the rest of the slides on a compact frame and changed the safety to a decocker. The name was changed to 40p. However, this one made it out with the wrong roll mark. The only image I can upload is from the gunbroker listing.
