ok here goes ....
i chronograph all my new loads. this means new bullets, different powders, different primers, etc.
for example loading 124gr CMJ FP bullets with 4.5gr Somchem S121 powder all at 27.50mm (1.082") over Pro Chrono Digital. Strings of 10 rounds each with CZ SP01 Shadow.
1) Winchester WSP = ave 1082 fps = pf 134.16
2) PMP Denel SP Magnum = ave 1093 fps = pf 135.53
3) Magtech SP = ave 1096 fps = pf 135.90
4) S&B SP = ave 1090 fps = pf 135.16
5) CCI no 500 SP = ave 1079 fps = pf 133.79
6) Fiocchi SP = ave 1088 fps = pf 134.91
you can see that there isn't much difference between the various primers with this specific bullet, at this COL and load. look at items 1 and 4 to answer your question. i can also confirm that depending on the cases used that all these are easy to seat and i do not find any of them to be problematic. i buy and use any of these primers as and when i can get them and i usually have at least between 1k and 2k of each in my reloading bench.
i raised the Lee Pro 1000 press to have space underneath for extra storage and to have a bin to catch the used primers through a hole but the main reason was to get the press at a comfortable height for sitting on a high stool or standing. i also use brass wingnuts on the Lee as i do not have it mounted all the time. i only mount it occasionally when i load other calibers than 9mm Para.
i am by no means an expert on reloading but i will give hints and tips where ever i can but i would prefer not to share my reloading recipes for your own safety. i believe that you should determine the correct COL for the bullet / s that you load and work up loads with your preferred powders starting at min load specified by the powder manufacturer. i have a few reloading manuals and would gladly look up specific loads for you if you tell me which bullet and powder you want to work up a load for.
