CZ82 Barrel Swap

I am looking to swap my CZ82 Makarov barrel for a .380 barrel.  Has anyone done this  and are there any words of wisdom?  I have purchased a Makarov barrel vice and a used .380 barrel.  Once the conversion is a success, the barrel vice will be up for sale.

The barrel swap is now completed and it was amazingly simple.  The hard part was modifying the Makarov tool to be used on a CZ.  once completed, everything else was a snap.  Anyone need a customized Markarov barrel press?

Have you shot the gun yet ?  How did everything turn out ?

I will have it to the range soon.  I am waiting on the spring for the slide lock.  I buggered it up .

I received the little hair spring and got it installed, what a PITA.  Took it to the range and it shoots well.  The .380s fit in the 9X18 magazine like it was made for it.  The boolits and bullets chamber, fire and eject.  Now all that is left is to adjust the sights slightly and it will be an excellent shooter.  Very worthwhile exercise.

Some say that the magazine holds 13.  I had some intermittent trouble when I loaded more than 12 380's.  Now the state of Connecticut requires 10 magazines max. so those problems are gone.

Actually the .380 have a smaller diameter than the 9X18, so it should take all 13.  Mine does.
