For the range, 115grn fmj. For protection I carry some 115grn Pow'rball, and 2 backup mags of fmj. You know, with this time of year, a decent leather jacket can stop a hollow point, or so I've heard. People always say "If you can't get it done with one mag, then you shouldn't carry at all." I say screw that, you might be shooting at a few different people, and you have to have a proper amount of ammo in case they try to flank you, or so you can pin them down until help arrives or you can escape.
Also, with myself and the wife, she carries a RAMI, and my SP-01 mags fit and fire from it as well. So if she needs it, I can toss her a mag when she runs out.
My ammo count = 55 rounds
Her ammo count = 35 rounds
I actually have one more mag for each pistol, but no way of carrying them at the moment. If we can't get it done with 90 rounds between us, then God help us. As I say, "Always carry a bigger stick, or more bullets."
